On our way home from an extended trip to Northern California at the end of September 2006, my friend Neil and I swung over into the Buena Vista Mining District south of Montgomery Pass, Nevada. We were there to look for a large stamp mill. An encounter with a couple of local deer hunters put us on the right trail.

After visiting the Buena Vista Mill, we drove over for a couple of days at Boundary Peak. And then on our way out to Dyer, Nevada we visited our last mine for the trip, the Red Rock Mercury Mine.
